I had a couple of requests for a sample of how to use the standard VB collection class with PocketSOAP, I just posted it to the samples page. Enjoy !

Macro's in c++ are evil, macros that cast all their inputs are doublely evil, the author of such should be made to suffer some vogon poetry.

I released PocketHTTP v1.2, this has a VB friendly streaming interface, along with some improvements to the timeout handling under SSL. (a rather hideous situation, having deprecated non blocking reads under SSL (on PocketPC 2003), and still having a bug with select, you end up having to do the read on a different thread, and time it out that way, urrrgghhhh)

Yeah, I had to give it back, I'm sad to see it go, its a fantastic end user O.S., it just works, at a level WinXP can't even get close to. still Apple can still learn a lot from Microsoft about development tools & support. On the other hand, I'm really fired up to be taking my WS-Experience to salesforce.com

Tim Bray started at Sun and commented that .NET has a lot of apparatus aimed at building desktop applications, which whilst true, is missing the point, sure WinForms is an (IMHO small) improvement over VB6, but ASP.NET is the ground breaking stuff. Its way ahead of both ASP and anything in Java land. I had thought in the past that struts would give ASP.NET a run for its money, but I've spent the last 6 months bringing a strong struts/java guy up to speed on .NET and particularly on ASP.NET, he's just blown away by the control model that ASP.NET uses for rendering. Plus all the other niceties that make ASP.NET work so productive, the auto app restarts, the out of the box controls, the additional controls you can find on the web. Its funny to see him cringe every time he has to go back to java/struts/jboss :)

Smartdigest.com seems to be re-pusblishing peoples blogs wholesale, the only purpose appears to be to get google ads. That can't be right surely ?

FIrst off, The Crystal Method played at the Warfield last week, I really enjoyed it, there performance was orders of magnitude better than last time I saw them live (way back in 99), and speaking of the Warfield, Kraftwerk will be playing there April 28, can't wait, they're one of my all time favorites. On a slightly different kick, Makoto takes over the Progression Session reigns from Bukem, and doesn't disappoint. If you're a Bukem fan, check out Progression Sessions 9 you'll like it.

I've started looking at Tim Bray's GenX project with a view to use it in PocketSOAP, its generation of canonical XML will be useful when implementing WS-Security on top of PocketSOAP. The current redist comes with VS.NET 2003 projects, so first step was put some VC6 projects together.

what is this rather cryptic error message from wsdl.exe suposed to mean ?
Schema validation warning: 'all' is not the only particle in a group or being used as an extension.

It seems every time I order something from them, they get worse, this time I placed an order last Thursday and I'm still waiting for an order # and shipping date, Its taken 4 different people and 40 minutes on the phone to find out what's going on, and the best I get is, I should hear within another 24 hours, sheesh, that sucks. By contrast the order I placed with newegg at the same time, is already in a FedEx van on its way to me.
